A Few of the Reasons...

I just wanted to share a few of the reasons I am literally counting down the days... :-)

The very first picture I took with a child happened to be with the child God had planned for me to sponsor since I was 3 or 4. Amazing. God is SO good!!! If you haven't heard the story of how I met Brian and how God called me to sponsor him keep checking in! I plan to re-post all of my journal entries from last summer soon!

Joyce! Sweet baby girl :-) We had so much fun that day! I can't wait to see you again girly!

My babies. Brandina and Scovia. I love these baby girls as if they were my own. I pray every day that you are safe and that if it is God's desire I will see you again very soon. Jer 29:11 & John 14:18.

Wasswa!!! Best driver ever! This is his sweet neice in the picture with him. cute girl! I hope to get to know her better this time. See you soon Wasswa! 139 days!

These are some beautiful children from Namatala. These kids love a camera!

God has made a lot of beautiful things, but it's hard to imagine anything more beautiful than his children!

IChooseYou! These are all (or at least most) of our kids! (plus Becky, Aidah, and Papa Ted)

Mama Flower and her precious family. I miss every one of you so much! See you soon!

Flower!!!!! Miss you sister :-)

Sweet Sandra...I can't wait to see you again!

IChooseYou moms! These women know how to pose for the camera :-)

Gorgeous girls! I hated saying goodbye, but these pictures are so fun!

Me and my Sweet Sandra again. I can't wait to see you again and this time I know you will be well!

My baby girl! That is her name for now. Baby girl. Her father could not tell me what her name was. He said he didn't know. Breaks my heart. Baby girl, your heavenly father knows your name. He knows everything about you because he made you. I love you!

Flower "Hold me so I don't drown!" Me "I'm holding you!!!" HAHAHAHAHA such a fun day! I'm so glad we got to have that day Flower. It means so much to me :-) (Thanks Becky and Mama flower for letting us have a sleepover!)

139 Days!

A Hug From God

I just received what I have decided to call a hug from God. I think this is only the most appropriate name for the moments in life where God gives you a precious gift of reassurance or encouragement. Mine came from a sweet girl I just know will become a close friend very soon. I got to speak with Melanie, a mzungu living for Jesus in Uganda, on skype tonight. She answered a lot of questions I had and gave me some very wise advice and encouragement. I am so thankful for this hug from God. I could never begin to describe the feeling you get when God answers prayers you didn't even really know you were praying. Just to know that He knows me is enough. It is amazing! He always knows our deepest needs and desires, and tonight I received some great encouragement! Thank you Melanie for allowing God to "hug" me through a conversation with you. :-) It means so much to me. Thank you God for giving me that sweet gift when I didn't even know it was exactly what I needed. God is good all the time!

The countdown begins!

The countdown begins! It's finally that time. Time to raise funds, get packed, and in 140 days begin my journey back to Uganda! That's right, only 140 more days!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! I started this blog so that anyone who wants to can follow my journey to Uganda starting now. I am aware that this is probably significantly more exciting to me than to anyone else, (at least at the moment) but I'm doing it anyways. I will be boarding a plane and heading off to Uganda on June 1, 2012 (God willing.) Until then you can expect to hear about fundraising progress, fundraising dates and locations, graduation (that's right, I'm graduating!!!!), and other hopefully exciting news. I will do my very best to keep you updated along the way but I probably won't be super great about it until I'm breathing the sweet air in Uganda. Here we go! I can't wait :-)

(I'm not used to this particular blog yet so excuse my hiccups along the way please!)
